Jalapeno Bacon Poppers

Tara on May 3rd 2010

Here’s the perfect appetizer for the Super Bowl Game – or anytime the men in your life need some “cave” time. These things are incredible. You won’t believe how good they taste until you try one. But I didn’t make up this recipe. I have to give Pioneer Woman credit for it. Did I mention [...]

Fried Zucchini with Lemon Aioli Dipping Sauce

Tara on Feb 25th 2010

One of our favorite places do dine on a special occasion is Maggiano’s. My favorite menu item is a simple appetizer – Fried Zucchini! Although Maggiano’s recipe remains a secret – I’ve come pretty close to duplicating this favorite and couldn’t wait to share it. I am also tempted to use yellow squash in place [...]

Cheese Dreams

Tara on Dec 14th 2009

Here’s another recipe from my mother-in-law. I don’t think I’ve had any other treats similar to these. They are fantastic and easy to make. Tara on Oct 19th 2009

I had never given much thought to Pumpkin Butter until recently.  To break the rainy month blues one Saturday evening, we loaded up the kids and drove to Cool Springs just to roam around for a while.  I had a few moments to myself, and the aroma pouring out of WILLIAMS SONOMA drew me inside [...]

Salsa

Tara on Aug 4th 2009

This is a recipe I got from a good friend whose family resides in Utah.  So it is an authentic western dish. Salsa is a versatile condiment and a staple for cooking around here. We love it and have found many ways to use salsa. I’ve made western dressing by adding equal portions of salsa [...]

Camping Dip

Tara on May 6th 2009

When dear hubby and I were dating, his mother would make this unique sandwich spread.  I think the first time I sampled her spread was when I accompanied them on a camping trip. My future mother-in-law would offer a variety of breads and crackers with her spread.  Eventually I had to get the recipe from [...]

Homemade Pimento Cheese

Tara on Apr 22nd 2009

My husband is a big fan of Pimento Cheese.  I remember his mother packing him pimento cheese sandwiches for lunch when we were in high school.  She makes the best I have ever tasted and in case you are wondering, hubby and I were high school sweet hearts.   Here is my feeble attempt to match [...]
