Tara’s Tennessee Sweet N Sassy BBQ Sauce

Tara on Aug 4th 2010

Every southern gal needs a tasty BBQ sauce recipe and I created this one last weekend upon the request of a friend. (Hi Brenda!) Why buy the mass produced, store bought sauce loaded with chemicals, when you can toss a few spices and other ingredients together in a sauce pan, heat the ingredients a couple of minutes, and [...]

Home Made Laundry Detergent

Tara on May 2nd 2010

We posted this last year but couldn’t find it on the web site so here it is again.  Great money saver.
I must admit, that I was skeptical- very, very skeptical about the whole home
made laundry detergent issue. But I kept on reading user reviews which raved
about the cheap costs and the wonderful results and thought [...]

News, Notes, and What to Cook???

Tara on May 29th 2009

Wow, we’ve certainly been busy lately.  Our oldest just graduated from high school.  Taracooks catered the graduation party the following evening.  The strawberries have been picked, frozen, and made into jam.  Cherries have been picked, pitted, and are waiting to be transformed into preserves.  We’ve put in another raised bed garden. And next week, we [...]

Homemade Pimento Cheese

Tara on Apr 22nd 2009

My husband is a big fan of Pimento Cheese.  I remember his mother packing him pimento cheese sandwiches for lunch when we were in high school.  She makes the best I have ever tasted and in case you are wondering, hubby and I were high school sweet hearts.   Here is my feeble attempt to match [...]
